Just a few tips:

1) Use the Gatherer addon from Curse.com. It remembers where you have mined all of your nodes and displays them on your map and minimap. VERY helpful.

2) For those of you with Burning Crusade, the first thing to mine is Fel Iron Ore from Hellfire Peninsula. There is a ton of it there and it is a great start for your mining training.

3) Remember that you can only level up a maximum of one time from one node, even if there are multiple ores to be mined. With this in mind, if you are purely grinding and don't want to worry about selling the low-level ore, then just mine it once and move on. This can greatly increase your leveling rate.

Un'Goro is a great place to mine Thorium because it's a pretty small zone and it takes only a few minutes to check the entire zone for rich vein sites. There's usually two or three rich veins up at a time, one along the western border, anywhere form down south in Terror Run or up north to the path going to Silithus. There's almost always also a rich vein in the center of the region at Fire Plume Ridge and small veins scattered all over the mountainous edges of the region. Must've mined over 100 thorium there as I did the quests there at 52-53.

if you like me and already hit lvl 70 you can make to 125 easy even though it's a real bitch. Just run through deadmines. If your alliance make westfall your home. run through the whole area before the instance. there's at least 2 copper nodes and sometimes i find silver and tin. then run in the instance grabing all the nodes and just kill when you get to a node. As a 70 warrior i was able to get all nodes out of deadmines about 4 times an hour. when your done run or hearth out reset the instance and do it all over again.

It's not too low, the deadmines is packed with tin and it's always good t ohave a gathering skill until for extra cash. Don't worry if you can't find any though. IF your a blacksmith/engineer/jewelcrafter you can use the stuff you mine.

it is worth carrying on. you have too learn how too mine silver and tin and then go too loch modan were the stuff is around lvl 15 and there are alot of tin ore and some silver.

Horde: Thunder Ridge, Durotar is much better you'll find for copper ore.

Alliance Loch Modan/Wetlands isn't bad.

I have found Thousand Needles to be a great place for Iron. You also get plenty of tin and copper nodes as well as the occasional silver and mithril node.

I start at Tanaris and make my way to the shimmering flats. I make a right at the bottom and follow along the edge all along Thousand Needles and back round to shimmering flats again. If I make two runs I can bring back usually 40-60 iron ores. Which I than smelt into steel and sell them in stacks of five for about 2-3 gold per stack. They usually sell really well

Was 300 skinning/300 mining, now dropped skinning and picked up jewelcrafting.

Been using this guide to quickly mine the mats to level my jewelcrafting without going broke using the AH.

Good info, thanks.

Man, this is awesome. Dropped leatherworking when i was 46. Dinged 47 last night and i am already 189 in mining thanks to this resource.

Loved the Crystal cave in STV! Loved it. XP, leather and iron and mithril.

I just got a tip from a friend theres a cave in the southeastern wetlands, just north of the dun algez tunnel. Its called telgen rock, and it has regular spawns of useless quest ore that spawns every 10 mins, really good to mine at tin levels. its full of weak spiders about level 15. and you can mine there for as long as you want.

You are nor entirely correct when you say there isnt alot of thorium in blasted lands-especially now that BC is out and virtually no one is there. i ran circles around blasted lands when leveling mining and found tons of thorium on a quick respawn.

Here are some places to look: the ogre camp in the northwest(behind the building...i found 3 small thorium veins right next to each other on 2 occasions here), there is almost always one right nest to the small altar of storms. the mountain with the ogres and the little cave has several spawn points as well as in the cave, all around the crater where the dark portal is, and there is almost always one and a mithril vein in the cave for the shadowsworn guys. basically every mountain has more than one spawn point for thorium ill usually find 4-5 veins on a run then 2-3 more when i start over....sometimes you have to kill a few things and burn time til respawn but all in all blasted lands is a great place for thorium.

Go to the blasted lands, and make a left when you enter zone and enter the mines, Garrison Armory.
There is mithril, thorium and truesilver in there. Also, the miners in there drop good money and a LOT of mageweave. Great farming spot while working on yer mining.

Silithus was an awsome place for thorium, many many rich veins and some regular ones. with TBC now no one needs thorium so great for mining skill, less competition

he best place for getting copper...even for low lvls, go West of Barrens into the hordes main town....and just run along the walls...I did about 2/3 of the way around and had 100+ copper...and if you are alliance...there is also a place to smelt (also anvil for Blacksmiths) in a village on the West side of the zone :D hope this helps!

one thing I noticed is that nowhere do you mention Thousand Needles, it has the most nodes that Ive seen and I just hangout near Splithoof Crag for mithril iron copper and tin(it has everything including Truesilver yet you dont mention it for anything at all.

Very good job on the guide from my experience. I was able to get from 1 to 266 in just 2 days of farming/grinding. But having a mount seriously helps out with the grinding making it faster and also very easy to seek out extra hills that may lay along the outer limit of the run. This mining guide also has decent spots for veins. Although I wouldn't suggest going to Searing Gorge after 225. Since Dark Iron is at 230 and the bits of thorium are like a tease since they are at 245. So find small mithril and even iron veins here. Anyway, great job loved using it to speed things up for when i hit outlands in 2 levels.
